Nicolino Calabrese

Nicolino Calabrese was born in Perugia (ITA), on 9th July 1974.
He graduated with laude in July 1998 from the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Perugia. Since 11th January 1999, he is member of the Professional Association of Dentists of Perugia (N° 545).
From Novenber 1998 to September 2000 he volunteered as dental surgeon in the Maxillo-Facial Department of S.Giovanni Battista Hospital in Foligno (PG, ITA). Still now, he keeps very close working relations with this Department.
Each summer between 1996 and 1999, Nicolino Calabrese attended for a few weeks Swedish Dental Faculties: Malmö University, the Brånemark Clinic of Goteborg and the Periodontal Department of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm.
In September 2000, after a strict selection, Nicolino Calabrese was admitted to the Master of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontology of the University College London (UCL) and moved to London (UK). He practiced and studied Periodontics full-time for three years in the Periodontal Department of the Eastman Dental Hospital and Institute. He was under the close tutorage of international scientists and clinicians such as Prof.M.Tonetti, L.Laurell, I.Needleman and Prof.N.Donos. In September 2003, he obtained the title of MClinDent in Periodontology by the UCL and the Certificate of Periodontology by the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP).
Between September 2004 and April 2005 Nicolino Calabrese moved to Campinas (S.Paolo, BRA) to attend two clinical courses in Oral Implantology and in Advanced Oral Surgery at ABOCamp. During the same period, he worked together with the implant and prosthetic team of the RM Dental Clinic (Campinas, BRA).
Back home, in June 2006 Nicolino Calabrese joined his brother Antonio to open the NAC Dentisti in Ponte Felcino (PG, ITA), a modern multidisciplinary private dental practice where he coordinates a team of specialists. Within this dental practice, Nicolino Calabrese is the Consultant responsible of Periodontology, Oral Surgery and Implantology.
Between August 2014 and May 2015, Nicolino Calabrese was external consultant for Periodontics and Implantology at the Casa di Cura S.Lorenzino, private Clinic in Cesena (Italy).
After passing the exam in September 2014, Nicolino Calabrese acquires the Membership in Periodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (M Perio RCSEd). Thanks to this title, in April 2015 he entered the Specialist List in Periodontics of the London’ General Dental Council.
Nicolino Calabrese has always been very active in postgraduate teaching too. Since March 2009, working in close collaboration with different International Organizations, he organizes and coordinates practical courses of oral and implant surgery (included advanced surgical procedures) for European dentists in Brazil and Portugal. Moreover, for continuing professional educational purposes, in 2014 Nicolino Calabrese opened the NACcademia, a teaching institution joined to NAC Ambulatorio Odontoiatrico, where free lectures on dental topics are given for students and dentists.

In dental research, Nicolino Calabrese had a few posters of original studies presented at international meetings (e.g.: E.A.O. Congress of Copenaghen in 1999, the Europerio of Berlin in 2003) as well as the following scientific articles (published in dental or medical scientific journals listed in PubMed):
